About the Event
The Karratha Trail Adventures multi-distance event will be held in the hills to the south of Karratha on July 21st showcasing the amazing network of trails we have to offer. The event village will be near the BMX track on Rosemary Road.
There is an event for everyone from the kiddies all the way up to the serious trail runner. Come along, bring a friend, these trails are awesome!
- Go Gecko: 1k, this one is open to the ages 10 and under groms to walk/run with mum or dad or go it solo! An easy, fun little trail that will loop back to the start/finish area.
- The Slinky Skink: 4K, new for 2024, this shorter distance will be a fast paced run. It's a good distance for those wanting to dip their toes into trail running or looking to push themselves a bit further without over doing it.
- The Happy Tata: 7K, so you’ve done a few park runs but want to challenge yourself a little more? Off-road is where it’s at! The Happy Tata trail will lead you over some gentle hills as well, just for fun. This is a great intro to trail running and perfect for those who want to see what it’s all about.
- The Loopy Lizard: 14k, this is starting to get a little more serious. This trail is super playful, winding through the hills to the south of Baynton and across the flats, expect a couple more hills than the Happy Tata, heading east and past the water tank before heading back to the event village. This course has around 200m of elevation.
- The Big Bungarra: 21k, it’s just a half marathon, right? With around 500 metres of hills thrown in for ‘fun’. This trail has amazing views from the top of the Yaburara trail lookout, and winds through the trail network from the west, to the east and takes it all in. Perfect for those who have done some running but really want to challenge themselves.
- The Giant Perentie: 32K, new for 2024, want to push yourself past that half marathon mark and really challenge what you've got? This is the distance for you!
Virtual races: you can still run the 21k or 32k events even if you can't make it to the actual event. So, the way this works is you buy a ticket and run your nominated distance over the weekend of the 20-21 July. send us your GPX or screenshot of your fitness app showing us the dates and distance and we will send you your entry goodies!
- Virtual Big Bungarra: you get a finishers medal, a Pilbara Trailblazers flask, and a PT buff!
